BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF TWO AGREEMENTS WITH CALIFORNIA ALLIANCE OF REHABILITATION INDUSTRIES (CARI), ONE FOR PARTICIPATION AND THE OTHER FOR NETWORKING AND WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, CARI was established to implement state policy in regard to California Legislation to service as the central point to connect the state with qualified community-based programs; and

 

WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into two Agreements with CARI, one for Participation and the other for Networking for the purpose of CARI referring potential contractors' that can provide work to Rehabilitation participants and also provide revenue to the County; and

 

WHEREAS, the membership fee to join CARI is $595 yearly and CARI will receive five percent of the revenue gained from referred and accepted Agreements from the Network Agreement, and the term of the Participation Agreement is April 1, 2004 through March 31, 2007, and the term of the Network Agreement will be in full force and effect until terminated by either party; and

 

WHEREAS, there are few contractors that provide this type of service and it is in the County's best interest to waive the Request for Proposal Process; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreements and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto; and

 

BE IT FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the request for proposal process be waived.
