RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REVISED PROCUREMENT POLICY OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AS REQUIRED BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, acting as the Board of Commissioners for the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo;

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo is under contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the operation of several public and assisted housing programs which require purchases of goods and services; and

WHEREAS, in order to promote program efficiencies, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has directed the Housing Authority to adopt a revision to current Procurement Policy in order to conform with the latest regulations; and

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority has revised its Procurement Policy as requested by HUD and said Procurement Policy is consistent with the requirements of 24 CFR 85.36 and the latest HUD Handbook 7460.8, governing Housing Authority purchasing regulations, which provide for the fair and equitable treatment in the purchase of goods and services, at competitive prices; and

WHEREAS, the Board has examined the revised Procurement Policy and finds the revised policy acceptable.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Board of Commissioners for the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo hereby adopts the revised Procurement Policy effective immediately.
