In July 2004 Stanford University contacted the Clinical Trials and Research Unit to participate in clinical trials at four County clinics evaluating the Stanford Health Education and Risk Reduction Training (HEAR2T) program in a high-risk population of low socioeconomic status (SES) served by the county health care system of San Mateo County. On August 1, 2003, Stanford University notified the County that our site was selected to participate in the clinical trial. The County will receive $92,991.00 for FY2003-04. The term of the agreement to conduct the study is September 1,2003 through March 31, 2004. The primary purpose of this study is to access the safety and effectiveness of the HEAR2T in defining optimal disease management in low-SES populations.
