RESOLUTION APPROVING A THREE-YEAR EXTENSION OF THE FACILITY AND CONSTRUCTION PERIOD FOR THE CRYSTAL SPRINGS TRAIL EXTENSION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AGENCY TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE CONSTRUCTION TIME PERIOD TO JANUARY 27, 2007

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on April 23, 1993, the City and County of San Francisco and the County of San Mateo entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for trail development and conveyance of trail easements on the San Francisco Peninsula Watershed as authorized by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission; and

WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding specified a time period of three years to October 26, 1999 for construction of trail improvements and facilities which time period was previously extended by mutual consent of the City and County of San Francisco and the County of San Mateo to June 27, 2003; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has not completed all trail and facility construction and improvements and desires to extend the time period to complete construction; and

WHEREAS, on January 27, 2004 the City and County of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission adopted Resolution No. 00-0156 authorizing an extension for an additional three years with the new completion date of January 27, 2007;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby authorizes the three-year time period extension for the trail and facility improvements for the various segments of the Crystal Springs Trail Extension Project with the new completion date of January 27, 2007; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Director of the Parks and Recreation Division of the Environmental Services Agency is hereby authorized for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo to execute and submit any documents which may be necessary for the extension of the time period to January 27, 2007 for the trail construction and improvements for of the Crystal Springs Trail Extension Project.
