SAN MATEO CONTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

 
 

Resolution Accepting the Office of Traffic and Safety Avoid DUI Campaign award in the amount $125,500 and authorizing the Sheriff's Office to host the Annual Avoid the 23 DUI Awards Ceremony in the amount of $10,500.

 

    RESOLVED, by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

    WHEREAS, the Board finds that the use of funds for the purpose of promoting community awareness on the impacts of drinking and driving, promoting officer involvement and recognizing high achieving officers for their participation in DUI checkpoints and roving strike teams is both appropriate and worthwhile;

 

    WHEREAS, the State Office of Traffic and Safety has awarded a grant in the amount of $125,500 for the purpose of the Avoid DUI campaign for the period of January 2004 through March 2006 in the amount of $125,500 to the City of Burlingame.

 

    WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame subsequently decided it was unable to administer the grant; and

 

    WHEREAS, the Sheriff has negotiated with State OTS to take over administration of the grant, the Sheriff's Office is prepared to administer the grant for the next two years.

 

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby agrees and authorizes the Sheriff Office to accept the OTS DUI Campaign Award in the amount of $125,500, and execute and submit all documents, agreements, amendments, payment requests and related documents, which may be necessary to administer the grant and further authorizes the Sheriff to host the Annual Avoid the 23 DUI Awards Ceremony recognizing high achieving officers and promoting the DUI campaign at a cost of $10,500.

 

The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to attest the signature thereto.
