RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND DESIGNATING FUNDS FOR EXPENDITURE IN CONNECTION WITH SAN MATEO COUNTY EXPO CENTER IMPROVEMENTS ...

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County has entered into Agreements with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Mateo (the "City"), dated June 30, 1981 and November 12, 1996, for the funding of certain County projects (the "Agreements"); and

WHEREAS, the County has identified the San Mateo County Expo Center Improvements (the "Project") as an appropriate County project to which it desires to have said funds in the amount of $3,000,000 applied; and

WHEREAS, it has been offered that in order to expend such amounts on such Project, the City and County are required to make certain findings; and

WHEREAS, the City has or is in the process of making the required findings;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED

1. This Board identifies and designates the Project as a project to be funded pursuant to the Agreements.

2. This Board has carefully considered the County budget for the existing fiscal year and is about to begin its consideration of the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year; and finds that all available funds are earmarked for uses other than the Project; and in fact, anticipates that it will be found necessary to make budget cuts and eliminate functions and uses that would have priority over the Project, in order to balance its budget for these two fiscal years; and that therefore no other reasonable means of financing the Project are available to the County except the funds from the City as provided under the Agreements.

3. Based on the findings of fact as provided, this Board hereby finds and determines that no other readily available reasonable means of financing the Project are available to the County.

4. The Clerk of this Board is instructed to provide a certified copy of this resolution to the City.
