Recommendation
|
Adopt a Resolution authorizing the President of the Board to execute an agreement with Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital.

|
Background
|
In August/September of 2003, both Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital and University of California, San Francisco made presentations at San Mateo Medical Center to present their programs in order to partner with San Mateo Medical Center for training and tertiary care services. Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital was selected for their experience in the community, excellent training programs and past partnerships in providing these services.

Discussion
|
Contractor will provide consultative assistance and tertiary partnership for the planning of women’s and children’s services at San Mateo Medical Center. Services will include unit set-up, training of staff and physicians, marketing of joint services and quality review.

|
This Contract keeps the commitment to responsive, effective and collaborative government and goal number 20: government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain. The agreement contributes to this commitment by providing consultative assistance and tertiary partnership for the planning of women’s and children’s services at San Mateo Medical Center.

Fiscal Impact
|
The term of the agreement is March 15, 2004 to March 14, 2006. The maximum amount of this agreement is $130,000. Funds are included in San Mateo Medical Center’s FY2003-04 Adopted Budget and funds will be included in future year budget requests.
