Resolution Delegating Authority to the Chief Executive Officer of San Mateo Medical Center to Execute Interfacility Transfer Agreements.
Recommendation
Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Board of Supervisors to delegate authority to the Chief Executive Officer of San Mateo Medical Center to execute Interfacility Transfer Agreements.
Background
To be in compliance with State Department of Health Regulations, San Mateo Medical Center is required to have Interfacility Transfer Agreements (ITAs) with facilities to which San Mateo Medical Center patients may be transferred.
On July 27, 1993, The Director of Health Services was delegated authority to execute these agreements (Resolution No. 57397).
Discussion
Effective April 2002, San Mateo Medical Center is managed by the Chief Executive Officer. Most of the current Interfacility Transfer Agreements are outdated and require updating. It is requested that authority now be delegated to the Chief Executive Officer to execute these Agreements.
