RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PENINSULA LIBRARY SYSTEM FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE COMMUNITY INFORMATION PROGRAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the best interest of the County of San Mateo would be served by Waiver of the Request for Proposal, in that the CIP’s database is proprietary and not easily replicable, and they have played a unique role in developing resource materials and providing information and referral assistance to human services providers throughout the County; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a new Agreement in the amount of $378,873 for the term of July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2006, whereby the Peninsula Library System has agreed to operate a centralized information and referral system that includes developing products such as directories, guides, and resource booklets, and developing a community-based resource tool to assist with the Child Welfare Redesign effort, through the Community Information Program (CIP), on behalf of the Human Services Agency and the San Mateo County community; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved such Agreement as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER ORDERED AND DETERMINED that the Request for Proposal process is hereby waived.
