RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF A FACSIMILE SIGNATURE

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THIS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code § 25103, the Board of Supervisors may authorize the use of a facsimile signature of the President of this Board for all purposes as the signature of that public officer on all official documents and for all official purposes other than on public securities or instruments of payment, and;

 

WHEREAS, it is reasonable and necessary that this Board of Supervisors now approve the use of a facsimile signature of the President of this Board of Supervisors as the official signature of the President of the Board at the time of the official action, evidenced by affixing the then President’s facsimile signature to an official document with a certificate of the Clerk of the Board of delivery of that document to the President, and

WHEREAS, this Board wishes to make the authorization to use a facsimile signature retroactive to January 1, 2004 and to apply to future Presidents of the Board of Supervisors who choose to use facsimile signatures on official county documents.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that this Board of Supervisors authorizes the use of a facsimile signature by the President of the Board of Supervisors for the purpose of evidencing official action on official documents pursuant to Government Code § 25103. This authorization is retroactive to January 1, 2004, and applies to future Presidents of the Board of Supervisors who choose to use facsimile signatures on official county documents.
