RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH WORLDWAYS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Health Services Agency was awarded funding by the State Department of Health Services to improve capacity to prepare for and respond to bioterrorist threats; and

WHEREAS, as a part of these preparedness activities the Health Services Agency is working to improve their capacity to communicate with San Mateo County residents about such threats before and during an event; and

WHEREAS, Worldways was selected based on a competitive process to produce and distribute an emergency preparedness brochure that will improve this communication capacity; and

WHEREAS, Worldways shall execute this work during the term of September 1, 2004-December 31, 2004, and the total fiscal impact of this agreement shall not exceed $179,906. The total amount to be paid to the Contractor shall not exceed $166,195. The County is responsible for paying sales tax directly to the state of California; the tax is $13,711:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board hereby authorizes the President of this Board of Supervisors to execute said agreement with Worldways for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
