RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS WITH AT&T WIRELESS AND NEXTEL COMMUNICATIONS FOR COUNTYWIDE CELLULAR PHONE SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a request to authorize the Purchasing Agent to enter into agreements with AT&T Wireless and Nextel Communications for countywide cellular phone services; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into Agreements to provide the above-referenced services for the period from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2007 with the right of the County to exercise a two year extension through September 30, 2009; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of each Agreement and has examined and approved them as to both form and content and desire to enter into said Agreements.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED, that the President of this Board of Supervisors authorizes the Purchasing Agent to enter into said agreements with AT&T Wireless in an amount not to exceed two million five hundred thousand ($2,500,000) dollars and Nextel Communications in an amount not to exceed two million five hundred thousand ($2,500,000) dollars for countywide cellular phone services.
