Recommendation
|
Adopt an ordinance amending the salary ordinance and accept the report on the total number of positions in the County.
|
Summary
|
The salary ordinance changes herein represent:
• reclassifying two positions,
• splitting two full time positions into four half time positions, and
• changing the salary rate of one classification.
These actions were approved for study by the County Manager's Office.

Explanation:

This is the salary range adjustment for the Director of Library Services. The County and Library Joint Powers Authority have recently completed a recruitment to fill this position and have a successful candidate. Based on external market data it is appropriate to raise the salary by 5% to the recommended rate to complete the hire process. This action represents a monthly salary and benefits cost of $758 based on filling the position at the top step of the range. There is no change in the total number of authorized positions.

This action represents a monthly salary and benefits cost of $508 based on filling the position at the top step in the range. There is no change in the total number of authorized positions.
