RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND EXECUTION OF THE NINTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER WEST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on July 25, 2000, the Board of Supervisors authorized the execution of an Agreement with Opportunities Industrialization Center-West (OICW) to provide Work First structured job search workshops and network activities and One-Stop Career Center services to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants, which has been amended on eight previous occasions; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and OICW wish to further amend the Agreement to extend the term through June 30, 2005 and to increase the funding by $590,155, for a total obligation $3,824,098, for the purpose of continuing the Year Round Youth Program through March 31, 2005 while the Request for Proposal is in process so there is no interruption of services, and to provide continuing services under the One-Stop Career Center for Adult and Dislocated Workers, and the Jobs Now Program through June 30, 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board is being asked to waive the RFP process for the Year Round Youth Program to extend services through while an RFP is conducted; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Ninth Amendment and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Ninth Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

 

BE IT FUTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Request for Proposal process be temporarily waived until a Request for Proposal process is completed so there are no breaks in service.
