RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THOMAS W. ROGERS, M.D. TO PROVIDE PATHOLOGY SERVICES TO SAN MATEO COUNTY CORONER (FORENSIC PATHOLOGY)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration the waiving of the Request for Proposal Process and acceptance; an agreement whereby Thomas W. Rogers, M.D. agrees to provide Pathology Services to the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office; and

WHEREAS, both parties wish to enter into said agreement to provide forensic pathology services for the period of November 1, 2004 to October 31, 2009 in the amount of $831,504; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said agreement; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the County to waive the Request for Proposal Process for the execution of the agreement because of the limited number of qualified and available professionals to perform these services and the high quality of work consistently demonstrated by Dr. Rogers

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Request for Proposal Process is waived and the President of this Board of Supervisors is authorized to execute the Agreement with Thomas W. Rogers, M.D. to provide pathology services to San Mateo County Coroner (Forensic Pathology) for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
