RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE

POLLUTION CONTROL INDUSTRIES AGREEMENT TO

GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND AUTHORIZING

PAYMENT TO GIBRALTAR FINANCIAL COPRORATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement by Resolution No. 66358 dated November 18, 2003, with Pollution Control Industries (PCI) to package, transport, and dispose of waste from the County’s various household hazardous waste facilities for the period of December 2, 2003 to December 1, 2006, for a total obligation of $1,320,000; and

 

WHEREAS, in a letter dated June 23, 2004, the County was informed that General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) purchased the assets of PCI and assumed the agreement under the same terms, conditions and pricing, and;

 

WHEREAS, there is a remaining balance of $1,150,654 on the agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, in a letter dated September 3, 2004, GEM informed the County of their decision to outsource their invoicing and cash management and requested payments be made to a third party, Gibraltar Financial Corporation;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors accept the assignment of the Pollution Control Industries agreement to General Environmental Management and authorize payments to Gibraltar Financial Corporation.
