______________________________________________________________

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, in the early 1940s, the County, working to assist the City of Belmont to improve Ralston Avenue, acquired for roadway purposes a parcel of land originally identified as Lot 11, Block 66, Map 4;

WHEREAS, the parcel is part of the right of way of Ralston Avenue, in the City of Belmont; and

WHEREAS, a title search indicates the ownership of the parcel is vested in the County of San Mateo, resulting in a cloud on title and potential County liability, and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 25365 of the California Government Code, the County’s Board of Supervisors may, by a four-fifths vote, convey any interest in property owned by the County to the City.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be authorized to execute a quitclaim deed granting any interest the County may have in the property to the City of Belmont.

IT IS FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Assistant County Manager or designee is hereby authorized to execute any documents necessary to complete the transfer.
