RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SANTA CLARA COUNTY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF GUARANTEED BEDS IN THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY MAIN JAIL FOR SAN MATEO COUNTY INMATES REQUIRING INPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT FROM ONE TO TWO BEDS AND INCREASING THE AGREEMENT MAXIMUM BY $25,000, FROM $800,000 TO $825,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on June 29, 2004 the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution number 066732 approved an agreement for one bed at Santa Clara County Jail for inpatient mental health treatment, for a total amount of $800,000.00 for the term of July 1, 2004 – June 30, 2005; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to amend the Agreement to provide another bed for acute mental health inpatient services to inmates and to increase the amount by $25,000.00 for a total obligation of not to exceed $825,000.00, and for the term of July 1, 2004 – June 30, 2005; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an amendment to the agreement with Santa Clara County, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Santa Clara County shall provide two beds for acute impatient mental health services to Correctional Health; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Amendment to the Agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
