RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD FROM THE UNIVERSITYWIDE
AIDS RESEARCH PROGRAM (UARP) FOR INTEGRATED PAIN MANAGEMENT
FOR HIV PATIENTS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, in March 2004, San Mateo Medical Center submitted a proposal regarding Integrated Pain Management for HIV Patients in response to a Request for Proposals for Community Collaborative Research Projects involving people with HIV; and

WHEREAS, on October 6, 2004, San Mateo Medical Center was notified that the proposal was favorably received and the grant awarded in the amount of $207,920; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Award, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the Regents of the University of California, Universitywide AIDS Research Program, will allocate funds in the amount of $103,960 for FY2004-05 and $103,960 for FY2005-06 for the provision of a research study regarding Integrated Pain Management for HIV patients; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the award and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to accept the award:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to accept said award and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.
