Resolution Authorizing the President of the Board to Execute the First Amendment to the Agreement for Staff Services with the South Bayside Waste Management Authority

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (“Authority”) is comprised of the cities of Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos and San Mateo, the County of San Mateo, and the West Bay Sanitary District; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo (“County”) and the Authority have previously entered into an Agreement for Staff Services to the South Bayside Waste Management Authority dated October 28, 2003 (“Agreement”), whereby the County provides, and the Authority funds, two full-time staff persons to perform work on behalf of the Authority as set forth in the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, the Agreement will expire on December 31, 2004, and the Authority desires to extend the termination date of the Agreement to June 30, 2005, and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, a First Amendment to the Agreement that will extend the termination date of the Agreement to June 30, 2005, and this Board has examined said First Amendment to the Agreement and desires to enter into same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said First Amendment to the Agreement for Staff Services to the South Bayside Waste Management Authority for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
