The Employee of the Month program was established in December 1984 to recognize and honor County employees who consistently demonstrate an outstanding level of performance.
Our Employee of the Month for April 2005 is Robyn Ziegler, Public Health Educator, in the Public Health Division of the Health Department.
|
A County employee since 1983, Robyn is the immunization and flu vaccine coordinator in the Family Health Services Unit. Her expertise in this area is unrivaled as she orchestrates the complex immunization and flu vaccine programs each year throughout the County.
Robyn’s performance in the 2004/2005 flu season was extraordinary. When one of the two national producers of flu vaccines went out of business due to a contaminated product, a national emergency was declared. Robyn and her one staff member developed a plan for the limited public vaccine available for distribution to medical providers for use with high risk individuals, including residents of nursing homes, long term care facilities, and healthcare workers. With the help of Public Health Nurses, six public flu clinics were established throughout the County. As a result, 18,000 individuals received flu vaccinations and there were 40,000 immunizations to children under 20 years of age. Many positive comments were received from the public about the efficiency and customer friendly nature of the process.
Our County is fortunate to have Robyn Ziegler as one of its outstanding employees.
