RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE FY 2004-05 AGREEMENT WITH WOMEN’S RECOVERY ASSOCIATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, On July 27, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved flat rate Agreements with thirteen (13) providers of alcohol and drug treatment services including an Agreement with WRA; and

WHEREAS, on February 4, 2004, the Agreement with WRA was amended to reduce CalWORKs Perinatal funding and corresponding services targeted for non-residential treatment services by $16,000 due to underutilization of these services and increased the residential services by the same amount where funds were needed; and

WHEREAS, due to a high demand, additional services were provided by the contractor, and the number of clients, and bed days were increased for CalWORKs residential treatment services and the Second Amendment was delayed due to a lengthy rate negotiation and review process by the Contractor; and

WHEREAS, it is now the mutual desire and intent of the parties hereto to amend and clarify the Agreement with WRA increasing the total Agreement amount by $61,759 to compensate WRA for its service of five (5) additional clients and its increase in the number of the bed days by five hundred ninety five (595) days. This Second Amendment increases the total Agreement amount by $61,759 from $763,528 to $825,287, and it is funded through CalWORKs single allocation fund. There is no Net County Cost associated with this Amendment.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
