Resolution Rejecting the One Bid Received and Authorizing the Director of Public Works to Re-Advertise the Cape Sealing of Various Roads in the Coastside Areas of La Honda and San Gregorio for Bid (F-306 [C])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on October 19, 2004, adopt Resolution No. 66989, which authorized the Director of Public Works to develop plans and specifications and to call for bids for projects identified in said resolution; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works prepared plans and specifications and called for sealed bids for the Cape Sealing of Various Roads in the Coastside Areas of La Honda and San Gregorio (Project) pursuant to Resolution No. 66989; and

WHEREAS, the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors did receive one sealed proposal for doing of the work as specified in the Project plans and specifications; and

WHEREAS, Section 22038 of the Public Contract Code provides that a public agency may, at its discretion, reject all bids as presented and re-advertise the same work for bids; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the one bid be rejected and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to re-advertise the Project for bid; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The one bid received on August 8, 2005, for the Project is hereby rejected.

2.

The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to re-advertise the Project for bid as provided by Section 22038 of the Public Contract Code.
