RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE MILLBRAE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE DONATION OF A 1997 FORD CROWN VICTORIA FOR USE BY MILLBRAE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office wishes to donate a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria to Millbrae Police Department’s Volunteer Program; and

WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program was established by the Millbrae Police Department in 1999 to support police personnel with a variety of different assignments such as stop sign observation, vehicle abatements, child fingerprinting, etc., and has limited resources which include only one aging motor vehicle; and

WHEREAS, said donation has an estimated worth of $3,500, and is for a valuable public purpose, namely to be used to maintain and enhance the public safety and all residents and visitors; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been requested by the Sheriff to authorize execution of an Agreement to donate a used vehicle to the Millbrae Police Department on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and finds it necessary and desirable to do so; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that this Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the Sheriff to execute an Agreement to donate one 1997 Ford Crown Victoria to the Millbrae Police Department’s Volunteer Program, worth approximately $3,500, on behalf of the County of San Mateo.
