BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE INDUSTRIAL EMERGENCY COUNCIL (IEC) FOR PROVISION OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION DRILLS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $33,000 TO $120,200.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, in October 2003, the Sheriff’s Office entered into an Agreement (30000-04-D020) in the amount of $20,000, for the term of October 1, 2003 to September 30, 2004, with the Industrial Emergency Council (IEC) to host Introduction to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) classes for Sheriff’s Office personnel; and

WHEREAS, in March 2004, the County Manager’s Office approved Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement which increased the fiscal obligation by $67,200, from $20,000 to $87,200 and extended the term by nine (9) months, from September 30, 2004 to June 30, 2005 for provision of planning and facilitation of WMD classes for local jurisdictions and first responders; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to further amend the Agreement, whereby IEC will arrange and facilitate 12 separate Weapons of Mass Destruction exercises throughout the County, increasing the contract amount by $33,000, from $87,200 to $120,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Second Amendment and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Second Amendment to the Agreement with IEC, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
