RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD, ON BEHALF OF THE CHILDREN’S HEALTH INITIATIVE COALITION, TO SUPPORT CALIFORNIANS FOR HEALTHY KIDS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board established and funded the San Mateo County Children’s Health Initiative (CHI) in 2002 to address community-wide concern for the children who lacked access to comprehensive medical, dental and vision health insurance coverage;

WHEREAS, the CHI has been an active partner with the new broad coalition, Californians for Healthy Kids, which has launched a statewide campaign in support of providing health coverage for all children;

WHEREAS, Californians for Healthy Kids continues to be the best approach for sustaining CHI’s groundbreaking work beyond this Board’s five-year funding commitment to the local initiative;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution authorizing the president of the Board, on behalf of the Children’s Health Initiative Coalition, to support Californians for Healthy Kids.
