WOMEN SEEING BEYOND TODAY

CONFERENCE

WHEREAS, the “Women Seeing Beyond Today Conference” will be held on March 5, 2005, in San Mateo County for women of all ages to come together for a day filled with opportunity, hope, and inspiration with the goal of empowering women and celebrating Women’s History Month which takes place annually during the month of March; and

WHEREAS, this all-day conference will provide a great opportunity for women from all backgrounds to gather together and address important issues such as career, leadership, finances, work, health, social services, creativity, and much more; and

WHEREAS, the day will include keynote speakers, workshops, and dialogue for women to learn from each other; and

WHEREAS, the Women Seeing Beyond Today Conference will serve our communities by providing women opportunities for self-development, networking and leadership, by planting seeds of encouragement and fostering a spirit of learning; and

WHEREAS, the Women Seeing Beyond Today Conference will bring women together from all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds to communicate with each other about their diverse experiences and inspire one another; and

WHEREAS, women throughout San Mateo County have made significant contributions in all areas of life and this will be a day for women to celebrate themselves, empower others and continue seeing beyond today,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County commemorates March 5, 2005, as the “Women Seeing Beyond Today Conference”, and commends the organizers and participants for their commitment to empowering women here and beyond to make this county a stronger, healthier community.
