BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF, ACTING IN HIS CAPACITY AS THE AREA COORDINATOR OF THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES,

TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES THROUGH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

AND TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTATION

REQUIRED BY THE PROGRAM AS DESCRIBED.

 
 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Sheriff serves as the Area Coordinator of the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services (OES); and

 

WHEREAS, the OES wishes to apply to the state for grant funding to enhance the ability to prevent, deter, respond to and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism; and

 

WHEREAS, the State of California, Governor’s Office of Emergency Services requires the Grantee to certify by resolution the approval of the application before submission of said application to the state; and

 

WHEREAS, the OES will serve as the local administrator for the grant award received by the State of California through the Department of Homeland Security to enhance the ability to prevent, deter, respond to and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism, in an amount of ONE MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS, ($1,835,625.00); and

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors authorizes the Sheriff, in his capacity as the OES Area Coordinator, to apply for a grant to enhance the ability to prevent, deter, respond to and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism, in the amount of $1,835,625; and the President of the Board shall execute the Certification necessary to complete the application; and

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the OES Area Coordinator or his designee shall familiarize himself with the assurances and certifications in the application and assure the County’s ability to comply with and conduct all negotiations, and execute and submit all documents including but not limited to the application, the grant agreement, amendments, payment requests, and other documents that may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned program.
