BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF SAN MATEO COUNTY TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO ASSIST WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on October 22, 2002, by Resolution No. 065631, the County authorized execution of an Agreement (the “Original Agreement”) with Mental Health Association of San Mateo County (“MHA”) to provide Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds (“CDBG”) in the amount of $700,000 to assist with the development of affordable housing (the “Project”); and

 

WHEREAS, on June 8, 2004, by Resolution No. 066705, the County authorized execution of a First Amendment to the Agreement with MHA to provide additional HOME funds and HOPWA funds in the amount of $610,750; and

 

WHEREAS, due to rising costs of construction, MHA has applied for $227,500 in additional funding assistance to assist with the construction of the Project; and

 

 

WHEREAS, on May 4, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved the CDBG, ESG, and HOME Action Plan for FY 2004-05, which included funding of a Housing Development Reserve to assist new projects or projects needing additional funds; and

 

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to further amend the Original Agreement to assist with the development and construction of affordable housing by providing additional CDBG and HOME funds in the amount of $227,500, for a total obligation of $1,538,250; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented for its consideration and acceptance, a Second Amendment to the Agreement between the County of San Mateo and MHA (Second Amendment), reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved the same as to form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

 
 

 
 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
