Resolution Authorizing the Repositioning of Stop Signs at the Intersection of Rutherford Avenue (County Road No. 516) and Osborn Avenue (County Road No. 507) – Sequoia Tract, Redwood City Area

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, stop signs on Osborn Avenue, County Road No. 507, were previously approved by this Board to stop traffic on Osborn Avenue before said traffic entered the intersection of Osborn Avenue and Rutherford Avenue; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has determined that it would be more appropriate due to current sight distance conditions near this intersection, to reposition said stop signs to stop traffic on Rutherford Avenue and assign the right-of-way to traffic on Osborn Avenue; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed as follows:

(1)

To install stop signs on Rutherford Avenue, County Road No. 516, in order to direct traffic on Rutherford Avenue to stop and yield the right-of-way before entering the intersection of Osborn and Rutherford Avenues; and

(2)

To remove the existing stop signs on Osborn Avenue, County Road No. 507, at its intersection with Rutherford Avenue.
