Resolution Adopting Revisions to the Procedures for the Installation of Speed Humps/Dips on County Maintained Roads and Incorporating said Procedures into a Program Called “The Residential Speed Control Device Program for County Maintained Roads”

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board previously adopted “The Procedures for the Installation of Speed Humps/Dips on County Maintained Roads;” and

 

WHEREAS, this Board directed the Director of Public Works to make revisions to said procedures based on the initial implementation of said Procedures and input from the public; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended revisions to said Procedures and that said Procedures and revisions be incorporated into a program proposed to be called “ The Residential Speed Control Device Program for County Maintained Roads;” and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

1)

The "Residential Speed Control Devices Program" dated March 25, 2005, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and made a part hereof, is hereby adopted as program to be used to determine if speed control devices are to be installed on County maintained roads.

 

2)

The administrative fee of Four Hundred Dollars ($400) per speed control device as previously approved by this Board shall remain in affect until revised by separate resolution of this Board and shall be collected by the Director of Public Works prior to the construction of any devices as may be approved by this Board.

 

3)

The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to implement the Program as hereby adopted.

 

4)

The Procedures for the Installation of Speed Humps/Dips on County Maintained Roads previously adopted by this Board are hereby superceded by the “Residential Speed Control Devices Program dated March 25, 2005” that is hereby approved by this Board.
