RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONTINUING STATE OF EMERGENCY DUE TO THE SERIES OF WINTER STORMS WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF WIND AND RAIN IN SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND LANDSLIDE IN LA HONDA EFFECTING
HOMES AND PUBLIC PROPERTY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance Chapter 2.8 Article 2.8.8 of the San Mateo County Code empowers the Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when said county is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity; and

 

WHEREAS, on April 12, 2005 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 067242 requesting the Governor to proclaim a State of Emergency and requesting a Presidential Declaration;

 

WHEREAS, the aforesaid conditions of public safety and peril warrant and necessitate extending the existence of a local emergency and the ability to use statutory power.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that the Board of Supervisors finds that a local emergency continues to exist and extends the existence of a local emergency in the County of San Mateo until its termination is proclaimed by this Board of Supervisors. It is further ordered that the need for continuing the local emergency shall be reviewed at each regularly scheduled meeting of this Board of Supervisors until the local emergency is terminated.
