RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Richard Bradford Kerwin | ||||
Upon Receiving | ||||
The 2005 Outstanding Leadership Award From the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce | ||||

WHEREAS, Richard Bradford Kerwin is affectionately known as Brad to friends, family, colleagues and peers; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Brad served his country as an Air Force fighter pilot, flying 117 combat missions in an F-4 Phantom, including 100 sorties over North Vietnam; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Brad twice earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and 10 awards of the Air Medal, left active duty in 1970, but continued serving with a reserve unit until retiring in 1987; and | ||||
WHEREAS, from 1977 to 1984, as Brisbane’s city manager and redevelopment director, Brad guided the city through severe financial hardships and the community emerge leaner and stronger than ever before; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Brad oversaw more than $30 million in public improvements, including the Brisbane Marina, the Bay Access Trail, the Sierra Point development, the Crocker Industrial Park project and the approval of homes on the Northeast Ridge; and | ||||
WHEREAS, after leaving city hall, Brad founded his own financial consulting firm, has advised more than 30 public agencies in the region, served on the city council, the planning commission and on the board of the Chamber of Commerce. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Richard Bradford Kerwin and extends sincere wishes for many more years of continued success. | ||||
