*RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING*

*Noel Lee*
*Upon Being Named*
*2005 Business Person of the Year* *By the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce*
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
*WHEREAS, Noel Lee, Head Monster, San Francisco native and admitted audiophile, once toured with an Asian-American rock band in the 1970s; and*

*WHEREAS, Noel Lee returned to the Bay Area and went to work using his mechanical engineering degree, but found laboratory work less than exciting; and*

*WHEREAS, Noel Lee re-applied his technical knowledge and began experimenting with various materials and processes to improve sound and music reproduction; and*

*WHEREAS, Noel Lee founded Monster Cable in 1978 in a two-room, garage flat rented from his in-laws in the Richmond District of San Francisco; and*

*WHEREAS, Noel Lee has grown his company into a national brand, with 750 employees and a product line topping 4,000 items.*

*NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Noel Lee, Head Monster, and extends sincere wishes for many more years of continued, monstrous success.*
