Resolution Authorizing the President of the Board to Execute a Matching Grant Agreement with the California Department of Transportation for the Design of Maintenance and Safety Improvements at the San Carlos Airport - (AIP No. 3-06-0210-10)

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has accepted a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) improvement grant for the San Carlos Airport (AIP No. 3-06-0210-10) for the design of future safety and maintenance improvements including the installation of additional airport security fencing, rehabilitation of the airport access road and east side aircraft parking apron, and airport drainage improvements; and

 

WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation, pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 21683.1, may provide matching grants equal to five percent (5%) of FAA grant amounts; and

 

WHEREAS, the State requires a local agency, as a condition of receiving these matching grant funds, to adopt a resolution authorizing the submittal of an application and the execution of a grant agreement for the acceptance of said grant funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that a grant application be made to the State which can be used to help finance maintenance and safety improvements at the San Carlos Airport; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The President of this Board is authorized to execute a matching grant agreement with the State of California Department of Transportation on behalf of the County of San Mateo if a State matching grant is made available to the San Carlos Airport for the design of future safety and maintenance improvements including the installation of additional airport security fencing, rehabilitation of the airport access road and east side aircraft parking apron, and airport drainage improvements (FAA AIP No. 3-06-0210-10); and

 

2.

The Director of Public Works is authorized to file an application for the grant and to execute any other necessary documents associated with the acceptance of grant funds from the California Department of Transportation for the aforesaid project.
