BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF $1,500,000 TO THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AS PART OF THE FY 2004 URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE GRANT.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, in 2004, the City and County of San Francisco applied for and awarded $26,481,275 from the Fiscal Year 2004 Urban Area Security Initiative (FY04 UASI) grant through California’s Office of Homeland Security (OHS) to enhance the ability to prevent, deter, respond to and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism; and

WHEREAS, the San Francisco Office of Emergency Services (SFOES) serves as the local administrator for the FY04 UASI grant award; and

WHEREAS, the SFOES identified the County of San Mateo as one of the contiguous counties as well as mutual aid partners eligible to receive a portion of the regional FY04 UASI award; and

WHEREAS, as part of the FY04 UASI requirements, the County of San Mateo must enter into an Agreement with the City and County of San Francisco to receive a portion of the grant award in the amount of ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,500,000); and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Agreement with the City and County of San Francisco, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
