RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SANTA CLARA COUNTY FOR TWO BEDS IN THE CORRECTIONAL TREATMENT CENTER AT THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY MAIN JAIL FOR INMATE-PATIENTS REQUIRING INPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT TO BE JULY 1, 2004 - JUNE 30, 2006 AND INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $912,000, BRINGING THE TOTAL OBLIGATION TO $1,737,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on June 29, 2004 the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution number 066732 approved an agreement for one bed at Santa Clara County Jail for inpatient mental health treatment, for a total amount of $800,000.00 for the term of July 1, 2004 – June 30, 2005; and by resolution 067063 on December 7, 2004 amended the agreement to add a second guaranteed bed and to increase the maximum to $825,000; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to extend the Agreement to provide two beds for acute mental health inpatient services to inmates and to increase the amount by $912,000 for a total obligation not to exceed $1,737,000, and for the term of July 1, 2004 – June 30, 2006 for the purposes of continued services through 2005-2006; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a Second Amendment to the Agreement with Santa Clara County, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Santa Clara County shall provide two beds for acute inpatient mental health services to Correctional Health; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Second Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Second Amendment to the Agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
