RESOLUTION A) WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS; B) AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE ORDER WITH SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS USA, INC. FOR A NUCLEAR MEDICINE GAMMA CAMERA SYSTEM, E. CAM – SIGNATURE SERIES DUAL VARIABLE SYSTEM FOR SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER; AND C) AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS USA, INC. FOR POST WARRANTY SERVICE MAINTENANCE, INCLUDING ON-DEMAND SERVICE, FOR FIVE YEARS FOR THE NUCLEAR MEDICINE GAMMA CAMERA SYSTEM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the best interests of the County of San Mateo would be served by waiving the Competitive Bid process, in that, the current equipment at San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is outdated. Equipment from three vendors was evaluated to find the best suited for patients’ needs at San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC). Acquiring the new equipment is focused on improved image quality, patient throughput, expanded procedure range and the ability to meet and maintain current technological requirements. The Siemens system meets all technical requirements and is the lowest priced; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, the proposal from Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. for the Nuclear Medicine Gamma Camera, E. CAM – Signature Series Dual Variable system and an agreement for service maintenance, including on-demand service for five years, for the Nuclear Medicine Gamma Camera system post warranty, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved same as to form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent shall be authorized to enter into a Purchase Order with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, inc. for a Nuclear Medicine Gamma Camera, E. CAM – Signature Series Dual Variable system for San Mateo Medical Center, for a total obligation of $350,529;and

 

IIT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent shall be authorized to enter into an agreement with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. for post warranty service maintenance, including on-demand service, for five years for the Nuclear Medicine Gamma Camera system, for a total obligation of $221,390.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Competitive Bid process is hereby waived.
