THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA DESIGNATING JUNE 24, 2005 AS

MID-COAST TELEVISION DAY

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Mid-Coast Television Channel 6, in El Granada, California, incorporated on February 3, 1984 and has been continuously on the air since June 24, 1985; and

   

WHEREAS, Mid-Coast Television is the Coastside’s non-profit community access station serving Montara, Moss Beach, Princeton, El Granada, Half Moon Bay, Pescadero and La Honda; and

   

WHEREAS, Mid-Coast Television, over the last twenty years, has continued to train volunteers in the production and airing of over 4,500 programs focusing on Coastside issues, people, and events; and

   

WHEREAS, Mid-Coast Television has covered over 1,500 hours per year of public meetings and forums; and

 

WHEREAS, Mid-Coast Television’s Community Message Channel and Website have served over 200 Coastside and County public agencies and non-profit organizations; and

   

WHEREAS, Mid-Coast Television Channel 6 will celebrate its 20th year of on-air service on June 24, 2005;

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County declares June 24, 2005 to be MID-COAST TELEVISION DAY, and wishes it the best of luck in the future!
