RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH STORAGETEK FOR SUPPORT OF DISK AND TAPE STORAGE SYSTEMS AND WAIVE THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement to provide maintenance support for the period July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006 for a total obligation of $145,000 and;

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposal process because StorageTek is the only vendor supplying the support the County needs to provide storage solutions in use in our County;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED

1) The Request for Proposal process is waived; 2) The Purchasing Agent is authorized and directed to execute said agreement as is approved by the County Counsel for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo.
