RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES WITH THE LAW FIRM OF KERR & WAGSTAFFE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County has recently been served in a federal lawsuit entitled Oscar and Andrea Braun v. County of San Mateo, United States District Court Case No. C 05 1459 MJJ; and

WHEREAS, County Counsel has recommended that outside counsel be retained to represent the County’s interests;

WHEREAS, a form of agreement with the law firm of Kerr & Wagstaffe to provide such services has been presented to the Board for its approval;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the agreement with the law firm of Kerr & Wagstaffe is hereby approved, and the President of the Board is authorized and directed to execute the agreement on behalf of the County.
