RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO SIGN A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES (CDHS) FOR BIOTERRORISM PREPAREDNESS FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2004-AUGUST 30, 2005, FOR THE AMOUNT TO $1,383,448, AND AUTHORIZING COUNTY COUNSEL TO MAKE PAYMENTS TO OTHER JURISDICTIONS FOR ASSISTANCE IN DEVELOPING A BIOTERRORISM PRACTICE GUIDE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, On October 5, 2004, the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution Number 66917, authorized an agreement with California Department of Health Services for the term July 1, 2004 – August 30, 2005 for the amount of $1,162,094 for the purposes of Bioterrorism Preparedness; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to increase the amount of the agreement by $221,354 to $1,383,448, without a change in the term, for the purpose of developing a practice guide for Health Officers; and

 

WHEREAS, County Counsel will be working with other jurisdictions to develop a practice guide for local Health Officers and will be disbursing funds out of $221,354 among the jurisdictions in accordance with the Memoranda of Understanding; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an agreement for 2004-05 which incorporates the original agreement and the additional amount, and desires to enter into same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board hereby authorizes the President of this Board of Supervisors to sign said amendment to the grant agreement with the California Department of Health Services for Bioterrorism Preparedness for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and County Counsel is authorized to make such disbursements out of the $221,354 to the jurisdictions that will be participating in the creation of the practice guide for local Health Officers in accordance with the Memoranda of Understanding with such jurisdictions.
