RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE CASH ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR IMMIGRANTS (CAPI) CONSORTUIM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on March 21, 2000, by Resolution No. 63488, this Board authorized the execution of an agreement with the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Merced Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma and Stanislaus to form a consortium to establish and administer the Bay Area Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (“CAPI”), which provides cash assistance to blind, aged and disabled legal immigrants who are not citizens and who are not eligible for Supplemental Security Income/ State Supplemental Payment (SSI/SSP) benefits, and;

 

WHEREAS, the Agreement has been amended on three previous occasions for the purpose of extending the term, accepting Santa Clara County's withdrawal from the Consortium and including language regarding payments in the event of a State Budget impasse; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to further amend the Agreement for the purpose of extending the term from November 1, 1998 through June 30, 2005, to November 1, 1998 through June 30, 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Fourth Amendment to the Agreement and said Board having examined and approved the Fourth Amendment as to form and content, and desires to enter into the amended Agreement;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be hereby, authorized and directed to execute the Fourth Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
