RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND COGNISA SECURITY, INC. SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there exists a need within the County of San Mateo for the provision of security services at various County facilities and service locations of the Medical Center, Health Services, Human Services, Courts, Coyote Point Marina and Public Works agencies; and

 

WHEREAS, agents of San Mateo County did, in light of said requirements, conduct an extensive Request For Proposals process in accordance with the Government Code, and have selected through that process and recommended to this Board an independent contractor, Cognisa Services, Inc. to be the provider of said services for the period of three years, to be renewed for an additional two years by further amendment if desired by both parties and agreed to by both parties; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board finds that it is necessary and desirable that an Agreement be executed with said contractor, for a three-year period ending June 30, 2008, in the not-to-exceed amount of $3,060,650 in the first year, $3,649,234 in the second year, and $3,795,518 in the third year, all annual amounts including a five percent contingency not to be used without prior County approval; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Agreement, and has examined and approved it as to both form and content, and desires to enter into the Agreement:

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement between the County of San Mateo and Cognisa Services, Inc. for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
