RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH
SHRED-IT USA, INC. FOR DOCUMENT SHREDDING SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a request to authorize the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with Shred-It USA, Inc. for document shredding services; and

WHEREAS, said Shred-It USA, Inc. wishes to enter into Agreement to provide the above-referenced services for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2008, with the right of the County, in its sole discretion, to extend the contract to June 30, 2009 or June 30, 2010 by exercising County reserved options; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said Agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED, that this Board of Supervisors authorizes its Purchasing Agent to enter into said agreement with Shred-It USA, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $120,000 for the three year term, plus $40,000 if the County exercises its fourth year option, plus $40,000 if the County exercises its fifth year option.
