THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE, has been a valued and trusted health service provider for the San Mateo County Coastside since 1970; and

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE offers skilled nursing care to 116 inpatient residents year-round, in addition to meeting the healthcare needs of patients and the surrounding coastal community; and

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE, operates the only 24-hour standby Emergency Department from Daly City to Santa Cruz and provides service with the Daughter of Charity’s ethic that Caring is Powerful Medicine; and

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE recently persevered through the 2005 flu season; and

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE the medical staff, associates, patients and families were subjected to altered working conditions and visitation schedules due to an outbreak of the flu; and

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE staff and associates rose to the occasion to help those in need with compassion and efficiency in spite of the challenges posed by the flu outbreak; and

WHEREAS, SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE continues to seek new ways to be involved in the community and responsive to the needs of families and patients; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County expresses congratulations to SETON MEDICAL CENTER COASTSIDE for its medical staff and associates and their high standards in caring for patients in the Coastside community.
