BACKGROUND:

Since 2002 the County of San Mateo and the Department of Rehabilitation have worked together to provide situational assessment, work adjustment, employment preparation, job development and placement services for County Mental Health consumers. On December 7, 2004, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 067074, authorizing the execution of a new Agreement with the Department of Rehabilitation, in which the County is the contractor, to continue services to County Mental Health consumers.

DISCUSSION:

This is the second year of the three year Agreement. This First Amendment to the Agreement adds funds for services in FY 2005-06. Funds for services in FY 2006-07 will be in the form of an Amendment to this Agreement. Additionally, this First Amendment revises the budget to reflect FY 2005-06 funding and adds additional provisions for monitoring and reporting.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This First Amendment increases the amount of the Agreement by $767,190 changing the total obligation from $767,190 to $1,534,380. The term remains the same, July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007. The County’s match of $220,009 will be paid through the existing Mental Health MOU with the balance of $547,181 paid through the Department of Rehabilitation and is included in the FY 2005-06 Adopted Budget. There is no Net County Cost.
