RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST LEASE AMENDMENT WITH ASIYA SHRINERS, SUCCESSOR IN INTEREST TO ISLAM TEMPLE A.A.O.N.M.S., INCREASING THE AREA OF THE PREMISES OF A LEASE OF A PORTION OF THE BUILDING AT 150 W. 20TH AVENUE, SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on March 5, 2002, the County of San Mateo and Islam Temple A.A.O.N.M.S, as authorized by Resolution No. 65102, entered into a Lease Agreement for the lease of 11,650 square feet of office space at 150 W. 20th Avenue, San Mateo, California; and

 

WHEREAS, subsequent to entering the Lease Agreement, Islam Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. changed its name to Asiya Shriners, and the parties wish to replace any reference to “Islam Temple A.A.O.N.M.S.” as Landlord with “Asiya Shriners”; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Lease to increase the area of the Premises by 5,838 square feet to a total of 17,488 square feet, with a corresponding increase in monthly rent of $7,880.00 to a total of $32,264.00 as set forth in the First Lease Amendment; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the First Lease Amendment and has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said First Lease Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest to the President’s signature thereto; and

 

IT IS FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the County Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to accept or execute on behalf of the County, any and all amendments, options, notices, consents, approvals, terminations and documents in connection with the Amendment and the Lease, except as otherwise provided by applicable law, including the County’s Ordinance Code and Charter.
