THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS | ||||
RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
SENIOR INSPECTOR BRUCE SABIN | ||||
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * | ||||
WHEREAS, in 1979, SENIOR INSPECTOR BRUCE SABIN was hired by the San Mateo Police Department as a Police Officer and took the oath to Protect and served the residents of the City of San Mateo; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in 1983, BRUCE SABIN completed a variety of assignments in the San Mateo Police Department including the Burglary Division, Narcotics Division, known as H.I.T and finally the Homicide Division, which included the investigation of sexual assault and robbery; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in 1990, BRUCE SABIN was hired by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office as an Inspector with the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation, where he investigated crimes of Consumer Fraud, Environmental, Child Abduction, Government Corruption, Officer Involved Shootings, Officer Misconduct and Violent crimes and homicide; and | ||||
WHEREAS, BRUCE SABIN, during his homicide assignments with both SMPD and the District Attorney’s Office, investigated well over 100 homicide cases which resulted in the arrest and conviction of those violent offenders; and | ||||
WHEREAS, BRUCE SABIN, used his training and experience to solve numerous criminal cases which normally may have gone unsolved and investigated approximately 1000 criminal cases during his 25 year career; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in 2004, BRUCE SABIN served as the President of the California Robbery Investigators Association and is a distinguished member of both the California Homicide Investigators Association and the California District Attorney’s Investigators Association; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in 2004, BRUCE SABIN was awarded by the Elks Club, The Officer of the Year award for his outstanding contribution and efforts for the investigation of homicides in San Mateo County; and | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County expresses congratulations and sincere gratitude to SENIOR INSPECTOR BRUCE SABIN for his leadership and dedication and extends its warmest wishes for his retirement and success in the future. | ||||
