Confirmation of Duane Bay as Housing Director

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm Duane Bay as Housing Director.

Goal 20: Government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather that temporary relief of immediate gain.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

The County has conducted a nationwide recruitment for the position of Housing Director. Mr. Bay has been nominated by the County Manager as the best candidate for this position based on his knowledge of housing issues in the County.

The Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to confirm appointments of department heads nominated by the County Manager.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Mr. Bay’s annual salary will be $120,000.
